I’m Not Under Pressure To Win—Nina

The winner of the women double’s event of the first leg of the ongoing Governor’s Cup Tennis Championship, at the Lagos Tennis Club, Onikan, Nina Brachikova of Russia, has stated that she is not under pressure to win the tourney.

Nina, who is the defending champion of the women single’s event told P.M Sports that her focus is on how to play a good game and win vital points on the court. She added that she is expecting to have tough opposition in the second leg of the championship. “I feel good and happy for winning the women double’s event, but not under pressure to defend the single’s event I won last year. I focus on how to put up a better performance in the second leg of the Governor’s Cup,” she said.

She stated that she will be taking her match one after the other, arguing that it is too early for her to be talking of defending her title again in the second leg. She lauded the Local Organising Committee, LOC, for their foresight at making the tourney interesting for her and other players.
