Police Nab 3-Man Robbery Gang
The Lagos State Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, led by SP Abba-Kyari has arrested three robbery suspects in Lagos.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the three suspected robbers came from Edo State to terrorise residents Mowe/Ibafo on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
One of the suspects told P.M.NEWS that his friend brought police to arrest him in his house around 2a.m. “I don’t know anything about this operation. My friend implicated me because I don’t stay here in Lagos. I reside in Benin, Edo State.
“On Wednesday, 13 October, 2011, I came to Lagos from Benin with a friend, Omoh, who is now at large to visit my friend, Obanu and he received me and Omoh. Both of us slept in Obanu’s house, and in the evening, they came to inform us that they wanted to go out that we should wait for them. They left around 9p.m and returned around 3a.m.
“I’m a student of Edo State University, I study Political Science. I’m in 200 Level.
“When they came in, they asked us to excuse them that they had a private issue to discuss.
“On their arrival, they brought two brief cases, which were padlocked and the contents were unknown to me.
“When Omoh and I got to Ojota park on our way back to Benin, the NURTW conducted a search and they saw two guns, live cartridges and some charms, one knife, pliers, cash, white cloths and padlock with us.â€
One of the other suspects told P.M.NEWS: “I came to Lagos on Wednesday, 13 October, 2011 to buy some materials for my furniture workshop. A search was conducted on the motor I boarded to go back to Benin, guns, cartridges, charms, knife with some cash were discovered in the bus.
“If I’m freed from this case, I will tell my friends that they should be wise and be conscious.â€
