Members of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents of the Murtala Mohammed, Ikeja chapter have broken up into three camps as the association prepares to hold its election for the chairmanship position next year.

P.M.NEWS learnt that one of the camps is headed by a former vice-chairman of the association, Nze Aloysius Igwe, the second camp is sponsoring the incumbent treasurer, Prince Ademola Adunola, as the next chairman and the third camp is said to be in favour of the incumbent chairman, Mr. Dada Agubuzo, for a second term.

While there are a few criticisms of Mr. Agubuzo led-government, many of the members say the man has tried as he favoured an all-inclusive administration with his open door policy.

“This government has silently eliminated all the professional hazards in the chapter and up till this moment, it has not relented.

“The present administration has an improved welfare scheme with employed medical personnel working with the welfare team that attends to the needs of the agents,” a source told P.M.NEWS.

Those who criticise him say being the first graduate to hold the position among the members, their expectations of his government were not met.

This, according to sources within the association, is the reason why the treasurer has been picked to contest for the position.

The association’s political scenario is now becoming hot with some loyalists of a particular camp secretly attending meetings of other camps and vice versa.
