Cole Eyes Boxing Promotions

South Africa-based Nigerian boxer, Gift Cole, has revealed his desire to go into boxing promotions in the country.

Cole revealed this to Boxing In Focus after he outpunched Shakaru Omoniyi last Sunday at Might Is Right Boxing Tourney held at the Blue Roof of the Lagos Television.

“I love boxing and I am ready to do the utmost to promote the sport in the country. That is why I want to promote professional boxing tourneys,” said the hitman.

Cole said that the deplorable condition of Nigerian boxers and the believe that he can effect a change inspired him to go into boxing promotion.

“I am not happy any time I come home and see the condition of our local boxers. Every time I come home, I discover that nothing has changed. I want to go into boxing promotions in order to improve the lot of boxers plying their trade in the country,” said Cole.

Asked how he hopes to achieve his goal, the pugilist said that he plans to create an atmosphere where the local boxer can make a livelihood from the sport.

“I want to help indigenous boxers to make a living through boxing. Boxers in Nigeria are living in poverty while their counterparts in other countries are making money. I am going into promotion because I want to put smiles on the faces of Nigerian boxers,” added Cole.
