Stop Insulting Me, K1 Warns Young Fuji Artistes, Named FUMAN Leader
Fuji King Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan Anifowoshe a.k.a. K-1 the Ultimate has warned younger fuji musicians to desist from insulting him. He said he won’t take any insult with kid gloves.

Speaking at his home in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State during a courtesy visit by the Elders and the Executive members of Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria, FUMAN, K-1, as he is popularly called, said: “enough is enough. Nobody should use me to climb the ladder. People have turned fuji musicians into a laughing stock because they believe we are always quarrelling. This does not happen in other genres of music.”
During the visit the leaders and the executive members on behalf of other fuji musicians, thanked the fuji king for assisting a younger fuji star Bayo Akanni a.k.a. Ojuyobo with N1 million when he fell ill and almost died. They honoured him with the title of the Grand Patron of the association.
The honour was backed with a letter dated 25 October, 2011 and a communiqué signed by at least 34 state chairmen, including the President of the association, Alhaji Saka Odunsi a.k.a. Saka Orobo, first and second vice president, Sulaiman Adigun, Kabiru Akanni, the Secretary, Ganiyu Iyanda Composer,Treasurer Adisa Owala, National Executive members, some elders including Alhaji Love Azeez,Alhaji Toeb Alabi, Saka Danfo, Waheed Akangbe, Ayinde Commissioner and others.
Speaking after the presentation of the letter and the communiqué, K-I said that he is highly elated to step into the shoes of the late Alhaji Ayinde Barrister.
“I have said it time without number that I am bigger than the National Chairman of FUMAN and I am not contesting it with anyboby. In fact, I told Obesere during Barrister’s burial that he should not be afraid, FUMAN is my baby and I will nurture it to maturity.”
Continuing, he said that with the honour bestowed on him, he will continue to contribute to the development of the association and that he will ensure that the association is well organised.
K-1 advised the executives to call a meeting of all stake holders including the National Chairman, Abass Akande Obesere.
“I did not summon any meeting. It is the association that proposed a courtesy visit and I obliged,” he said.
The National President of FUMAN, Alhaji Saka Orobo thanked the newly installed patron for his patience, steadfastness and maturity.
“We will act accordingly,” he said.
