Mr. Nathan Amadi, a Chief Tutor in the Department of Accountancy at University of Maiduguri, has advised the Federal Government to address the issue of corruption before removing the fuel subsidy.

Amadi, who is also a Visiting Reader at the Gombe State University, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gombe on Thursday.

He said that while government might have good intention for proposing the policy of removal of subsidy, the level of corruption in the country would affect its implementation. I am not worried about the cost of fuel, but the worry is that the revenue generated from this are not properly channelled.
