The General Officer Commanding, G O C, Nigerian Army Military Cantoment, Maryland, Lagos, Sanusi Muazu, has warned area boys and unions that collect illegal levies from traders to stay away from the Nigerian Army shopping complex after displaced Yaba traders relocated to the complex.

Muazu said miscreants are not allowed in and around the complex while assuring the traders of their protection and security of their goods.

Thousands of Yaba traders relocated to the Arena Shopping Complex after clashes with state government task force over illegal trading.

P.M.NEWS checks revealed that more than 1,500 shops at the complex have been taken over and and business activities have since commenced at the complex.

As the time of writing this report, some traders were busy negotiating with the management of the market to rent shops.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the traders relocated to the complex due to constant harassment by state government officials over illegal trading, extortion and the recent closure of the market.

The management of the shopping complex Woobs Resources Limited reportedly rented out the shops at an affordable price.

The complex director, Mr. Whoba Ogo told our reporter that the complex was built to accommodate all classes of people.

He added that the traders were given the shops because they met the stipulated conditions.
