17-Year Old Robbery Suspect Nabbed

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested by the Agbara Divisional Police, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, after he forcefully took N47,000 from a female trader.

The suspect, who is said to be from the Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State, told P.M.NEWS that he is a generator mechanic but comes to Agbara to steal from traders.

“I’m a generator mechanic and also an armed robbery. I come here to steal from people because nobody knows me here. After stealing, I go back to Badagry,” he said.

The suspect explained to said the incident that landed him in police custody was the last woman he robbed in Agbara. “I targeted her and when it was late in the night, I went to her shop and tried to rob her of N47,000 but she started screaming. So, I held her neck so that she won’t be able shout.

“I successfully collected the money but as I was about leaving with the money, an okada man saw me running out with the money and alerted the boys around.”

The boys were said to have pursued him, caught and him handed him over to Agbara Police Division.

“As soon as the boys caught me, I knew I was finished. They handed me to over the police in Agbara and from there, I was transferred to SARS.
