Rotary Club Omole Donates Library

In a bid to constantly serve humanity through acts of goodwill, the Rotary club of Omole Golden, District 9110, Nigeria, recently, through its LITERACY/EDUCATION service project, commissioned a fully furnished and well-equipped library it donated to Oke-Ira Senior Secondary School, Lagos.

The commissioning of the library which coincided with the official visit of Rotary’s District Governor, Mr Kennedy Ejakpomehwe, to the Rotary club of Omole Golden, also had in attendance the Commisioner for Education, Lagos State, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye.

Mrs. Oladunjoye expressed her joy for being part of the epoch making event. She commended Rotary club of Omole Golden for helping the school with a fully equipped library.

In her words “the government would ensure that books and other items donated would be used for the benefit of improving education in the state.”

She also used the opportunity to announce that she would ensure the provision of a seasoned librarian to manage the library.

She pointed out that it is the government’s desire to give children quality education and that the government is always willing to partner stakeholders to ensure that.

Also speaking at the event, the District Governor, Mr Ejakpomehwe, commended and congratulated the Rotary Club of Omole Golden for using their time and resources to contribute to improving the learning conditions and the continuous education of students of Oke-Ira Senior Secondary School. He also used the opportunity to thank the authorities of the school for giving Rotary the opportunity to execute the library project.

The president of Rotary club of Omole Golden, District 9110, Mr Adedayo Aderemi Ajose, also used the opportunity to highlight the success of some of the service projects embarked upon by Rotary club of Omole Golden. He also shed more light on some of the projects the Rotary club of Omole Golden is planning to execute in the future.

Some of the major highlights of the day’s event were the induction of the Commissioner of Education, Mrs Oladunjoye as a member of Rotary Club of Omole Golden and the award of the Paul Harris certificate to Hajia Alabi Ibironke for her selfless contribution to the ideals that Rotary stands for.
