At least 30 people were killed last night in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital in Northern Nigeria.
Reports say the attack was carried out by unidentified gunmen.
The police headquarters in the state was also bombed in the latest spate of deadly attacks in Northern Nigeria.
There have been series of violent attacks in the North on the eve of the Eid-el-Kabir Muslim festival.
One of the attacks in Zonkwa, Kaduna state, left two women who were attending a vigil at a church on Thursday dead.
Suicide bombers have also struck in Maiduguri, capital of Borno state which has been the haven of Boko Haram.
The attacks are taking place in spite of a joint military task force deployed to Borno to curtail the deadly attacks by the fundamentalist Boko Haram.
