'We'll Improve On What's On Ground'


The chairman of Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, Princess Jumoke Jimbo-Ademehin, has pledged to improve upon the lives of the people of the council area,  infrastructural development and the road network.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the councillors that would work with her, Jimbo stated that, “I will definitely improve on what is on ground and contribute our quota, through meaningful and sustained efforts by developing the area and ensuring that the dividends of democracy is felt not only by party members but the entire community.”

The  chairman stated that her first assignment had been reconciliation, which was why they had a smooth and successful election. She added that her administration has a lot of plans and as a seasoned administrator herself, she wants her work to be justified.

As for the complaints about the state of the roads in the council area, she promised to ensure that they are either tarred or graded, and for those roads beyond the capacity of the council, she will liaise with the Lagos State government to achieve results.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Chairman of the council, Sulaimon Kazeem said this is a new era in local government administration and assured the people of improvement and development in the next three months.

Also speaking, the Leader of the legislative House, Mr. Wasiu Omotayo Agbaje, from Ward E, Isawo , stated that they have done all the necessary things and are ready to start work in full. He also promised that in all they are doing, they would carry the people along, and will  ensure that the community reaps the dividends of democracy.
