First Bank, Deepwater To Sign Foreign Pros

In a bid to make a mark in this year’s FIBA-Africa Club Championship that will dunk off later in the year, newly crowned champions of Nigerian Premier League, First Deepwater and former champions, First Bank, both based in Lagos are to beef up their teams with some foreign based players.

Coach of the Elephant Girls, as First Bank is popularly called, Aderemi Adewunmi, told P.M.Sports that the plan to sign on players based outside the country was aimed at fortifying the team.

Adewunmi said: “Our management team is finalising arrangements to ensure that the foreign-based players hit camp before the final round of the Africa Club Championship in December. This will enable the team to have a good preparation.”

Coach Lateef Erinfolami of First Deepwater disclosed that the team are ready to sign more quality players as they target continental title in the FIBA-Africa tourney.
