Robbery Suspects In Police Net

Three robbery suspects,  Isiaka Bello, 28, Waheed  Adesope, 27 and Kofi Denis from the Republic of Benin have been arrested by men of the Lagos State Anti-Robbery Squad at Ijora Badia, Lagos.

They were arrested with arms and ammunition following a tip off by members of the community at their hideout at White Sand area, Ijora Badia.

Following incessant attacks by armed robbers in Ijora Badia, members of the community met and decided to give  information about suspicious elements in the area to the police.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the suspects engaged the police in a shootout and three of them were arrested while the others escaped.

One of the suspects, Isiaka allegedly confessed to the police: “We are seven members in the gang. I don’t know where others live because I and my friend, Waheed hang around Ijora. We don’t have a house, we only meet with the gang at White Sand in Ijora any time we are going for operation .We’ve been robbing people but I’m not the owner of the gun I was caught with. It belongs to Jako, a member of the gang now at large. I don’t know how he got the gun. We operate around  Ijora, Mile 2 and Badagry express way. We rob people of their cars, money and properties.”

The police at SARS have promised to intensify investigation towards arresting the fleeing members of the gang and recover more arms and ammunition.
