Come Sunday, 13 November, one of the top three finalists in the Glo Naija Sings, an M-Net music talent hunt sponsored by Globacom, will be unveiled as the title winner of this year’s edition of the show.

The trio of Vicky, Christian and Mattade are vying for the coveted prize of $100,000, a Toyota RAV 4 car, Glo ambassadorship and a recording contract.

In a dramatic and surprise eviction last Sunday, entertaining Tee Songz was voted out for being the contestant with the least number of votes, thus crashing out of the competition’s grand finale.

During the night, Christian had put his best foot forward during his performances, singing Turn Your Lights Down Low by Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill. The only female remaining in the show, Vicky, performed with her usual brilliance, Runaway by The Corrs and He Lives In You by Diana Ross, while surprised finalist, Mattade, on his part, raised his game by performing Rolling In The Deep by Adell and Flying Without Wings by Ruben Studdard.

Resident judge, Olisa, commended the contestants for their brilliant performances, saying Christian has finally come out and was in his comfort zone as his voice was brilliant.

“You were superb tonight,” he enthused. Mattade, on his part, according to Olisa, has finally justified why he was brought to Lagos for the Top 10.

“Mattade sang difficult songs but was brilliant in his delivery,” Olisa said, while describing Vicky’s performances as extremely brilliant.

“You have a great voice and each time you go on stage, you give us a master class in the art of singing,” he said.

With encomiums showered on the last three contestants, the stage is now set for who, among them, will become Africa’s next superstar and goes away with the coveted prize.

Is it Vicky, Christian or Mattade? It all depends on the votes from the audience.
