NDLEA Chained My Legs And Beat Me —Baba Suwe

The last may not have been heard of the arrest , detention and eventual release of ace Yoruba comedian, Babatunde Omidina, a.k.a Baba Suwe.
Narrating his ordeal in the hands of the agency at a press conference in Lagos, Omidina explained that his legs were bound in chains and he was beaten by NDLEA officials.
Omidina’s lead lawyer, Bamidele Aturu lamented the inhuman degradation Omidina was subjected to and vowed to sue the agency.
He described Omidina’s case as a flagrant abuse of his right to dignity and personal liberty.
Aturu explained further that Omidina was taken to an undisclosed hospital in Ikoyi, where he was subjected to series of tests without his consent. He alleged that a tube was put in his mouth and another in his anus, as water was flushed into him., and no sooner was that done than he defecated profusely. While at the hospital, Aturu disclosed that Omidina was given a pair of gloves to scour his own excreta.
Meanwhile, Aturu said plans have been concluded to sue the NDLEA for breach of Omidina’s rights since 13 September when he was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja on his way to Paris, France on suspicion that he ingested large particles suspected to be hard drugs.
