30, 000 Nigeria Pilgrims For Israel

About 30,000 Nigerians will perform this year’s holy pilgrimage to Israel, Mr. John Opara, Executive Secretary of the National Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), has said.

Opara disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gombe.

He spoke shortly after bidding farewell to the 314 pilgrims from Borno and Niger states, who are to be transported to Israel from the Gombe Airport.

Opara urged the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the country while in the Holy land.

“I am happy and as you can see, everybody here is happy; I thank God for them because they travelled all the way from Borno and Niger states to be here and we say to God be the glory.

“I want to appeal to them to be good ambassadors of our great nation. Let them go and pray for Nigeria and their state so that there will be peace,” Opara said.

NAN reports that as at 8.30 p.m., the pilgrims were still being screened while an aircraft was already waiting to transport them.
