Court Remands 2 For Stabbing Lawyer
An Osogbo Senior Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered that two accused persons be remanded in prison custody for allegedly assaulting a legal practitioner, Mr. Yinka Muyiwa.
The Police Prosecutor, Mr. Emmanuel Ediabari, told the court that the two men, Alamu Akinkunmi, 20, and Musibau Raimi, 23, committed the offence at Railway Compound in Osogbo on Nov. 14.
Ediabari said the accused conspired and assaulted the lawyer by stabbing him on the fore head with a broken bottle.
He said that the offence contravened sections 516 and 355 of the state Criminal Code Law.
The two accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge brought against them.
Senior Magistrate Olusola Aluko in his ruling ordered that they should be remanded in prison custody till December 16, for the consideration of their bail application.
