Lagos Tertiary Games: How LOC Disbursed N3.250m Grant To Schools

The Local Organising Committee, LOC, of the 3rd Lagos Tertiary Games has made public details of how the preparation grants are given to the 17 institutions taking part in the championship.

The Chairman of the LOC of the tournament, Prince Wale Oladunjoye,  said the sum of N3.250m has been given out to the institutions to support their preparation depending on the numbers of athletes they are featuring in the Tertiary Games.

According to the breakdown of the funds released by the LOC, Lagos State Polytechnic got the highest grant of N311, 606.39 for featuring 114 athletes. University of Lagos with 112 athletes got N306, 139.61. Federal College of Education (Technical) with 102 athletes got N278, 805.71. Yaba College of Technology got N265, 138.77 with 97 athletes. Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology with 96 athletes got N262, 405.38.

St. Augustine College of Education with 90 athletes was paid N246,005.05. Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education got N259,671.99 for fielding 95 athletes. Lagos State University which featured 82 athletes got N224,137.93. Ronik Polytechnic with 80 athletes got N218,671.15. Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration with 60 athletes got N164,003.36.

Wollex Polytechnic with 80 athletes got N218,671.15. Ansar-uid-Deen College of Education got N153,069.80 for featuring 56 athletes. Michael Otedola College of Primary Education with 53 athletes got N144,869.63. Grace Polytechnic which features 48 athletes got N131,202.69, while Nigeria Institute of Journalism, NIJ, with 24 athletes got N65,601.43.

The LOC said the sum of N9.625m will be given out as prize monies to winners in seven sports during the 10 -day championship, facilitated by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to the Governor and the Min. of Sports.

Meanwhile, the finals of the Table Tennis events will be played at the Sports Hall of the University of Lagos tomorrow.
