Man Charged For Caning His Wife To Death

A 35-year-old man, Segun Akanbi, was on Friday arraigned at an Ibadan Chief Magistrate Court, Iyaganku, for allegedly caning his wife to death.

The police prosecutor, Mr. Adewale Amos, alleged that the accused committed the offence on August 13 at the Ilupeju Area, Ibadan.

He alleged that the accused unlawfully cause the death of one Busayo Akanbi by beating her to death with a cane.

Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Fatima Badrudeen, denied the accused bail and ordered that he be reprimanded at the Agodi Prisons, pending further investigations by the police.

Badrudeen then adjourned the case till November 29 for hearing.
