Police Nab 10 Robbery Suspects In Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has announced the arrest of 10 suspected armed robbers and a shop breaker.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, who paraded the suspects before newsmen in Katsina on Friday, said four of the suspected armed robbers were arrested at a filling Station on the IBB Way in Katsina.

He said they were arrested shortly after allegedly robbing one Usman Musa of Sha’iskawa quarters of N2,000 and a motorcycle.

Mohammed said another set of four suspected robbers were arrested on November 3 at Gidan Dawa quarters in Katsina for their alleged involvement in some robbery operations.

He said the others were arrested in Kankara town on November 14 after allegedly robbing two motorcyclists on the Kankara-Sheme Road.

The commissioner said the command also arrested a suspected shop breaker for allegedly breaking the shop of one Alhaji Musaka Magaji at Unguwar Liman, Katsina during which he stole more than N1 million.

He said that N447,700 and one DVD player was recovered from the shop breaker, while N4,000 iron chain, one pistol, four rounds of ammunitions, a knife and two motorcycles were recovered from the suspected armed robbers.

Mohammed said all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as the police concluded their investigations.
