The final of the 4th U-17 Yemi Tella Cup will hold tomorrow at Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
The final will be played between Heroes Football Club and Soccer Warrior Football Club.
According to the organiser of the grassroots football competition, Nigeria Coaches Football Association, Lagos Chapter, invitations have been sent to notable personalities among whom are the Commissioner for Sports, Wahid Enitan Oshodi, Prince Wale Oladunjoye, Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to Governor Raji Fashola, Seyi Akinwunmi, Chairman, Lagos State Football Association and Tajudeen Ajide, Chairman, Surulere Local Government.
Secretary of the association, Lagos Chapter, Ifeoluwa Idowu, said that the organisers have concluded plan to organise a memorable closing ceremony. He said the tourney was put together by his association in memory of the former Golden Eaglets’ coach, Yemi Tella, who won the FIFA U-17 World Cup for Nigeria in South Korea.
“It is going to be an exciting final because we have put everything in place to make the final a memorable one. We are expecting a full house and I am happy that all our invited guests have promised to grace the occasion to honour the late Tella,†he said.
