Robbers Raid Abeokuta Again; Banks Shut Down

Dare-devil armed robbers struck again this morning at Oke-Ilewo and Sapon areas of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, forcing all banks in the areas to shut down operations.
The three robbery suspects, P.M.NEWS gathered, fired sporadically into the air at the popular Sapon market. Residents and traders fled in different directions to escape being hit by stray bullets.
Following information about the presence of the robbers in the town, all banks shut their gates and suspended operations.
P.M.NEWS cannot ascertain the scope of the attack as at the time of filing this report.
But schools, shops, offices and residential buildings in the areas have been shut.
Investigations revealed that the suspects, armed with sophisticated weapons were heading towards Eleweran via Odeda enroute Ibadan.
With the latest attack in Abeolkuta, all the banks in Ogun State have been forced to shut down due to incessant attacks by robbers.
Last week, banks in Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu-Igbo, Ago-Iwoye, Sagamu and other towns in Ijebu Division of Ogun State were forced to close because of robbery attacks.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Musyiwa Adejobi could not be reached on phone to comment on today’s robbery incident.
