Bayelsa Appoints New Commissioner

Bayelsa State Governor, Chief Timipre Sylva, has nominated Barrister Fitzegerald Biuks Olorogun as replacement for Mr. Etifa Bekeakpo, who ceased to be Commissioner for Youth, Conflict Resolution and Employment Generation who resigned recently.
The name of the new commissioner-nominee has been sent to the Bayelsa State House of Assembly for confirmation in line with the constitution.
Governor Sylva thanks the former commissioner for resigning and advised him to hand over all government property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary in the ministry.
Barrister Olorogun studied Law at the University of Lagos and the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. He did the mandatory national youth service at the Ministry of Justice in the then Bendel State in 1982. Thereafter, he went into private legal practice, and was appointed Special Adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor (Dr. Goodluck Jonathan) on Legal Matters.
At present, Olorogun is Special Adviser to Governor Sylva on Legal Education.
