Man, 41, in court for attempted murder

A 41-year-old man, Joseph Ezenkwe,  was on Tuesday arraigned  before an Ibadan Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged attempted murder.

The Prosecutor, Ologede Babatunde, told the court that the accused on  March 28 attempted to kill one Stephen Anyanwu at about 8:30 p.m at Ajetumobi Area of Agbowo, Ibadan.

He said the accused attempted to kill  Anyanwu by attacking him with a machete on his  hand and head, making him to be  unconscious.

The offence, he stated, was contrary to and punishable under Section 320 of  the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol. II of the Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000.

The plea of the accused was, however, not taken.

Chief Magistrate Ebeloku Mustapha adjourned the case to February 7, next year.
