24 Teams For Kessington Cup

Twenty four teams across Lagos State  will feature in the first edition of U-20 Kessington Adebutu Soccer Championship which holds early next year at Oshodi Sport Centre

The organisers of the tourney, sponsored by Kessignton Adebutu, who is fondly called Baba Ijebu, have promised to make the tourney  a memorable event.

Chairman of South West Youth Soccer Organisation, Nurudeen Agara, told GSG that the cup donor has given them the go ahead to organise the championship in his name and promised to give his full support.

“It is a privilege for us to organise a football competition for Adebutu. For this reason, we have planned to organise a colourful and memorable  tournament,” he said

Agara said many clubs have purchased their registration forms to indicate their interest in the tourney.

He disclosed they received more than 50 entries, but only 24 teams will be shortlisted for the tourney.

Secretary of the Organisation, Aliu Ganiu, said the association is very grateful to the sponsor for his contribution to  football development in Lagos.

He described Adebutu as a sport loving person and promised  to organise a hitch- free tourney.

Among the teams that have registered  are Glory FC, Smart Strikers, B-Unit, Stanley FC and Bora FC
