Three new cars have been nominated for the car of the year award, an event organized by GMC Nigeria in Lagos.
According to the spokesman for the organisers, Mr. Daniel Ekugo, a Japanese car and two Korean vehicles are the three cars being considered for the coveted annual award.
He said in a statement recently that the event, holding on December 15 would also feature the presentation of a magazine and a public lecture on the review of warranty given by automobile manufacturers/dealers.
Ekugo said the award was aimed at promoting and rewarding excellence in the Nigerian automotive industry and other allied sectors.
“The Nigerian Auto Awards is based on extensive industry and customer survey; the award committee has spent the past six months researching and survey to determine the recipients; key criteria for awards are quality, quantity, customer support and aftersales services.â€
He gave the central theme of this year’s award as: Promoting Excellence and Encouraging Safety.
Other categories of the award, he added, include budget car of the year, luxury car and truck company of the year, among others.
