Chief Coach of Ifelodun Local Council Developmental Area, LCDA, Sunny Omini, is upbeat that his team will win this year’s Speaker’s Cup.
Omini disclosed this on Tuesday after his team defeated Agege Local Council football team 2-0 to book a place in the quarter final of the competition.
Ifelodun LCDA is expected to meet Oshodi Local Council football team in one of the quarter finals holding this evening at the Agege Stadium.
Omini said he looks beyond the quarter final of the tourney “We have come a long way and we cannot afford to lose at this stage.
Our council chairman, Fatai Ajidagba, is solidly behind us. it will be a disaster if we fail to go beyond the quarter final stage,†he said.
Team Manager of Ifelodun, Mutalad Ojulari charged his team not to be complacent and approach the game with all seriousness.
He thanked the council boss, for his support to the team.
The council boss, according to him, gave the players match bonus and training allowances to motivate them.
In other quarter final matches to be decided today, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA will play Ajeromi/Ifelodun LCDA, Ikorodu West LCDA will battle Amuwo-Odofin Local Council while Apapa Local Council will tackle Onigbongbo LCDA in the last match of the day.
