Rugby: SuperSport Launches 'Let's Play Initiative'

In an effort to add value to health and sports development among Nigerian youths, SuperSport; the nation’s leading premium sports content provider, in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Sports launched the Rugby ‘Let’s Play’ initiative in Lagos.

Tunde Bank-Anthony, Executive Secretary, Lagos State Sports Federation, who represented the Commissioner for Sports, Enitan Oshodi, at the launch held at Onikan Stadium, describe the initiative as a laudable project designed by SuperSport to help create a healthy sporting spirit among Nigerian youths and help them see the need to take up sports as a career.

Bank-Anthony, said the state government was constructively disposed to supporting projects designed towards youth development and empowerment, urged other corporate bodies and the state to emulate the efforts of SuperSport in sports development in the country.

General Manager, SuperSport, Felix Awogu , said: “Let’s Play initiative has recorded success in other African countries and by having Nigerian youths embrace the initiative, it will help them discover their potentials in various sporting activities.”

Vaughn Bishop, Manager, SuperSport Enterprise, said that Let’s Play initiative was designed for both boys and girls to help them socialise and build character.

Last August, SuperSport kicked off the Let’s Play initiative with a soccer game at Campos Stadium, Lagos.
