The police at Area ‘F’ Police Division, Ikeja, Lagos southwest Nigeria have arrested the senior pastor at Jordan Ministries, Opebi, Ikeja for allegedly abducting the wife of the son of a retired army general to Kenya without her husband’s permission.

The suspect, Pastor Ndukwe Chigbo was alleged to have taken the wife of the retired general’s son to Kenya on a retreat by the church without taking permission from her husband.

The enraged husband, identified as Mr. Ndiomu, reported the matter to the police and the pastor was arrested for abduction. He was detained before he was charged before the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on charges of abducting another man’s wife.

The pastor, whose church is located at Awosika Bus stop, Opebi, was said to have gone with the woman (name withheld) to Kenya. The woman is a member of his church.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Pastor Jigbo and woman left Nigeria for Kenya on 23 November, 2011 for a so-called retreat and did not return until seven days later.

Her husband, Mr. Ndiomu who told the police that he had warned her to stop attending the church, reported her disappearance to the police.

He wrote in his statement to the police that when he didn’t see his wife at home for some days, he went to the church, only to discover that the pastor had not also been around for the same period.

He got the police to arrest a junior pastor in the church before Pastor Chigbo was eventually arrested on arrival from Kenya.

In his statement to the police, Pastor Chigbo denied travelling to Kenya with the woman. He claimed that it was the woman who actually came to meet him in Kenya.

P.M.NEWS however gathered that the woman at the centre of the scandal confessed that she had been having an affair with the pastor for long and that they left Nigeria together to enjoy themselves in Kenya.
