Lagos Speaker Not In Hiding

Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rotimi Adebayo has denied report that his boss has gone into hiding.

Reacting to a report that the Speaker, Adeyemi Ikuforiji has gone into hiding following a Federal High Court order for his arrest, Adebayo said: “There is no reason whatsoever for the Speaker to go into hiding.

“The Speaker is in his office attending to official duties.  He was in the office today (yesterday) and has been doing his job as expected of him.

“Adeyemi Ikuforiji is a honest and transparent public figure. There is no question of him going into hiding,” he told P.M.NEWS.

The media aide explained further that the Speaker and 39 members of the State House of Assembly had in early September punched holes in all the allegations leveled against Ikuforiji.

“You will recall that the entire lawmaking body had submitted that there was no truth what soever in the allegations the EFCC is leveling against the Speaker,” he added.
