NBB of C In USA For WBC Convention

Executive members of Nigerian Boxing Board of Control, NBB of C, are currently attending the 49th Annual World Convention of the World Boxing Council, WBC.

The Convention, which began on Sunday at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, will end on 17 December.

The NBB of C delegation, led by its president, Dr. Godwin Kanu, included Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, Folorunso Jacobs, Lateef Muis and Comrade Victor John.

John, in a chat with P.M. Sports shortly before the delegates left for the US on Saturday said that the annual event is a way to foster friendship among affiliated bodies.

“The Convention is vital for unity among members of the World Boxing Council because it is an avenue for the world boxing family to promote friendship among the various bodies and to discuss how professional boxing can move forward,” said John, who is the chairman of Branch B, Oshodi, of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW.

The NBB of C is also affiliated to the African Boxing Union, ABU.
