Nigerians have continued to mourn the death of former Olympic silver medalist, and Technical Director of Athletic Federation of Nigeria, AFN, Sunday Bada, who slumped and died on Monday evening at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Speaking on Badaâ€™s death, Nigerian athlete and two times Olympic medalist, Enefiok Udobong described the late Bada as a generous man who was passionate about Nigerian sports. He said his death was a big blow to Nigerian athletes and the AFN.
In his own comment, President Nigerian Olympian Association, Henry Amike expressed shock with the death of Bada, saying that he gone at a crucial time Nigeria is preparing for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
In the same vein, scribe of Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC, Tunde Popoola said Badaâ€™s achievement in Nigerian sports could not be quantified, adding that his death was another disaster that fell Nigerian sports in the outgoing year.
