Olympic Weightlifting: Coach Expects More Slots For Nigeria

Head Coach of the Weightlifting Federation of Nigeria, Patrick Bassey, has expressed confidence in the country’s lifters to win more slots for the country during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Bassey said the country can still win more slots in addition to the ones it has won before the games commence next year.

“This matter is very technical but we must remember that we have already won two slots for the country. I believe we can still win additional slots before the games begin next year,” said Bassey.

The coach said there are tourneys like the African Olympic Qualifiers where the lifters can win more slots for the country.

“I believe Nigeria can still win more slots before the games. The African Olympic Qualifiers is another tourney where the country can win more slots. I have no doubt about the country winning more slots for the games next year,” added Bassey.
