3 Robbery Suspects Lynched

Nemesis caught up with a gang of armed robbers early this morning when three of them were lynched by a mob along the Ikoto Expressway by Fari Petrol Station, Ogun State.

The robbery suspects who pretended to be passengers were arrested when they tried to dispossess some travellers of their belongings.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the suspects wore police uniform and were sighted by a passenger who alighted from a bus coming from the eastern part of the country.

They allegedly pointed their guns at the passengers, trying to rob them.

“I was at Ikoto junction when I saw the men with a lady, discussing with the driver of another bus. It was something around

6.30a.m. The robbers shot into the air. The passengers started shouting, ‘police come out, police come out.’

“Suddenly, some boys carrying guns, came out and attacked them. They succeeded in arresting three of them while the remaining

fled with gunshot wounds,” the witness narrated.

Items recovered from them include knives, charms, three pistols, AK47 rifles, 16 ATM cards and a huge amount of money.

Area Commander of Ijebu Police Division, ASP Mobolaji Odesanya, was not in his to confirm the story but a source there confirmed that three of the suspects were lynched by the mob.
