Ikeja Challenge Cup Final Holds Saturday

The final of Ikeja Soccer Challenge Cup final will hold on Saturday at Adeniyi Jones Primary School, Ikeja, Lagos.

The final will be played between Seriki Aro Talents FC and Ojodu FC.

To reach the final stage, Seriki Aro Talents FC defeated Uprising FC 5-4 on a penalty shootout after one goal apiece at the regulation time, while Ojodu FC thrashed Smart Strikers 4-1 in the second semi final played recently.

Chairman Organising Committee and chairman of Adsense Media Services,Tayo Aderinola, expressed satisfaction that all the participating teams lived up to expectations in their games.

According to him, the tourney has not recorded any soccer violence.

Aderinola revealed that there will be consolatory prizes for outstanding players and prize money for the two finalists.

“I am impressed with the standard and organisation of this year’s edition. All the players gave good account of themselves and I am happy that none of the players sustained serious injury throughout our competition,” he said.

He urged the finalists to caution their supporters to desist from any social vices that can tarnish the image of the competition.

He said that the organisers have invited personalities that will grace the closing ceremony.
