Chief Coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, has told invited domestic league players to prove themselves worthy of their invitation through their performances in training if they want to be part of the senior national team.

Thirty invited home-based players are currently in camp in Abuja ahead of the 2013 Nations Cup match against Rwanda in Kigali on 29 February, 2012.

Speaking on the chances of some of the players in camp to be part of the Super Eagles team in the future, the ‘Big Boss’, as Keshi is fondly called, said it is left for the players to use the opportunity of the call up and prove themselves in the team.

Keshi, however, declared his satisfaction with the performance of the players, adding that he has been impressed by the spirit and the passion showed by them.

“I am particularly impressed with the spirit and hunger of the players. I’m glad to say that we have identified some good players who can make the senior team. I think they would bring competition to the team. We hope to bring the best out of them from this camping exercise,” Keshi said.
