ACN Thanks Lagosians, Wishes Them Merry Xmas
The Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria has expressed gratitude to Lagosians for their support so far, promising that better days are ahead for all in Lagos.
In a release signed by the State Publicity Secretary Mr. Joe Igbokwe, the Party said “it is not unaware of all the encouragement and support the Party has received from its teeming supporters for years now, even in most difficult times.â€
“What we owe Lagosians, no matter whose ox is gored, is total commitment to making Lagos the pride of Nigeria, where all will excel irrespective of tribe, religion, creed or cultureâ€
“The Party states that the leaders hands are always heavy, and constantly need the supporting hands of committed admirers, associates, loyalists and strong supporters to forge ahead in taking decisions that are sometimes hard and painful but necessary.â€
“The focused, committed and the visionary leader sees ahead of his subjects and he goes ahead to implement policies and programmes that will be beneficial to all concerned in the nearest future without the subjects not knowing the long-term benefits sometimes.â€
“For instance, many have forgotten that Governor Fashola had to confront 25 cases in various courts in Lagos to get property owners to remove their fences to make way to expand the Ozumba Mbadiwe – Lekki corridorâ€
“The unfortunate toll controversy on Lekki-Epe expressway is part of domestic process. We in the Party have had cause to say it repeatedly that democracy is a noisy process but in the midst of this noisy controversy, consensus is achieved.â€
“A school of thought has always asked us to forget the process and focus on the reward. The government of ACN in Lagos believes in the reward that will surely come after the process that may be difficult sometimes.â€
“We are appealing to Lagosians to remain committed in supporting their own peoples’ Governor knowing fully well that he will not let them down when the chips are downâ€
“The Party wishes all Lagosians and Nigerians a merry Xmas and a Happy New Year in advance,†the ACN added.
