School Sports: Green House Win Omolaye Inter House Sports
Green House came first ahead of five other houses that competed in various games at the first Inter-house sports competition of Omolaye Nursery and Primary School, Agbede Transformer, Agric, Ikorodu, Lagos State, southwest, Nigeria.
The ceremony that was held at the school’s premises along Prince Osinbajo Road was witnessed by many important dignitaries from Ikorodu, Ikeja and Shomolu areas of Lagos.
The special guests included chairman of the occasion, Mr. Abayomi Oduntan of Babalola Ventures and Dr. Erinfolami of Prince of Peace Hospital.
The participating houses were sponsored by various Community Development Associations,CDAs, in Agbede community. They competed in various sporting events that included relay races, 100 metres, 200 metres, modern javelin with plastic throw, shotputs and skipping.
To come out top, Green House carted away five gold and three silver medals while Blue House came second with three gold and four silver while Purple House came third with three gold and three bronze medals.
Baale elect of the area, Alhaji Balogun, handed out the prizes to the first and second winners, while Deaconess Sokoya, the school’s headteacher handed the cups to the fifth and sixth place houses.
Sokoya appealed to parents and guardians at the occasion to always allow their children to participate in sports in order to be useful to themselves and the country in the future.
