NFF Names Technical Director
Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, will today officially name the new technical director of the Nigerian national teams.

Media Officer of the NFF, Ademola Olajire said that an executive meeting of the NFF board which is holding on the eve of the Annual General Meeting, AGM, is scheduled for today in Kaduna where the Alhaji Aminu Maigari-led board will name the new technical director who will head the Technical Department of the NFF
Speaking on Brila FM early today, Olajire said that the executive meeting of the NFF will use its prerogative to announce the new technical director for the national teams at its meeting today. He revealed that a recommendation has been made, but the final decision lies with the executive committee of the board.
“The NFF executive board members need to ratify the recommendation of its technical committee. A recommendation has been made for the post of the technical director which the executive would reveal today,†he said.
It was however gathered that former Ethiopia manager Tom Saintfeit is favoured to be named as the new technical director.
Olajire further disclosed that new coaches of the female national team, the Super Falcons and that of the U-20 Flying Eagles are expected to be named today at the end of the meeting ahead of the AGM in Kaduna tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the NFF has said that the days of just concentrating on competition by the national teams are over as plans have been perfected by the football body to focus on the developmental football for all the national teams, which will be a platform that will position Nigerian football to greatness.
Chris Green, the chairman of technical committee of the NFF said that the NFF is placing emphasis
on developmental football regarding all the national teams in order to correct the mistake of the past, which only focused on participating in football competitions organized by CAF and FIFA.
“The truth of the matter is that we are over relying on competition in this country and because our emphasis is on qualifying and competing at every tournament not on developmental football, even after doing well in such competitions, we still find it difficult to sustain recorded in age –grade championship,†Green said.
