Pretty and velvet-voiced Ify Onyegbule bowed out of Nigeria’s Radio Continental and TVC today. Ify, who joined the sister stations about four years ago from Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), plans to venture into private business.
She handled many major programmes on both the radio and television arms of the Ikosi-Ketu-based organisation. Besides casting news and reporting, one of her TV programmes is “Woman of Substance” in which many prominent and inspiring Nigerian women in all fields of life have featured.
In this week’s edition of the programme, Pastor Peace Okonkwo, the wife of the General Overseer and Founder of the Gbagada-based TREM church, was featured.
Ify,bespectaled and fair-complexioned, in her farewell remarks to her teeming radio and TV audience today, posted on Facebook, wrote “As 2011 winds down…im grateful to God for all this year has been…most of all im grateful to Him for bringing you….yes you my FB friends, my way and for all who have been with me all through…my days with Radio and TVC…i say thank you for the criticism, love and support. As i take my bow out and unto greater things i pray the Lord blesses us all in the coming year!”.
