Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi is at loggerheads with top officials of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, over a proposed friendly against Angola, as they would prefer a match against another 2012 Africa Nations Cup finalists Senegal.

Keshi has given his blessings to his team of players from the Nigeria Premier League to host Angola on 11 January at the Abuja National Stadium.

However, some top-rank officials would prefer the local Eagles take on Senegal, who are also preparing for the Nations Cup, which kicks off January 21 in Malabo.

“Keshi has given his approval for the Angola match, but there are some other officials who would rather want the home-based Eagles tackle Senegal,” a top source informed MTNFootball.com

“These officials probably believe that star-studded Senegal, who are regarded as one of the favourites at the 2012 Nations Cup will give Keshi’s team a sterner test than Angola.

The local Eagles are also billed to take on Liberia in yet another friendly early in the New Year, it was gathered.

These matches are all part of Nigeria’s build-up for a 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda on 29 February in Kigali.

Keshi has promised to give as many players from the domestic league as possible in a new Super Eagles he is building.
