Former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA, Fanny Amun has commended Chief Coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi for giving home-based players the chance to play for the senior national team.
Amun said it is a good idea that Keshi wants to use some of the local stars to beef up his team for Nigeriaâ€
At least, 27 players from different clubs in the Nigeria Premier League, NPL, are currently in camp with Keshi and Amun, who led Nigeriaâ€
He said: “Surely, Keshi is on the right track with the home-based players. The only thing he requires from Nigerians is time and patience to mould them into a formidable team that he would use to execute his plans for the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier and 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign.
I believe with good training, adequate support, motivation as well as a conducive atmosphere, these local players will do well even without the foreign players.â€
