Mob Nabs Robbery Suspect With Gun

Luck ran out on an armed robbery suspect when he was overpowered by an angry mob at Igando area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, after he and other members of his gang robbed and killed their victim.

The suspect identified as Victor who resides at Igando, and his gang were said to have attacked one Abiodun and killed him after dispossessing him of his belongings.

While others fled, Victor was said to have been pursued and caught by an angry mob which handed him over to the police at Okokomaiko Police Station.

Police sources told P.M.NEWS that when the suspect was searched, one single barrel shotgun was recovered from him.

According to the police, the crime was committed at Ashade field, Igbo Elerin, Okokomaiko, Lagos State.

In a similar development, a robbery suspect was lynched by an angry mob at Canal View Estate, Oke Afa, Ejigbo, a suburb of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

A police source told P.M.NEWS that the dead robber attempted to steal a car stereo when he was caught and lynched by the mob.

The Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, are investigating the two cases.

There was also a report that a police patrol team attached to Ejigbo Police Station had a shootout with armed robbers that were operating on a motorcycle along NNPC Ilamoshe Road, Ejigbo.

In the process, one of the robbers was killed while others escaped with bullet wounds. One double barrel shotgun and two live cartridges were recovered from the dead robber.
