Belts, Plague Arrive For Oshiomhole Tourney

The Local Organising Committee, LOC, of the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole Intercontinental Wrestling Championship, has taken delivery of 10 championship belts ahead of the competition, which is scheduled to take place in Benin City, Edo State next month.

P.M.Sports gathered that the LOC, headed by Primate Charles Odugbesi ordered for the belts to be given out to wrestlers who emerge winners in the wrestling championship organised to honour the Governor of Edo State and as part of the governor’s second term campaign build up for the 2012 governorship election in the state.

Coordinator of the championship, Prince Olanrewaju Hameed, said that apart from the belts, the LOC has taken delivery of four trophies and a world peace plague which would be given to the governor during the tournament holding in the three senatorial districts of Edo State.

“We are also expecting two branded rings, which will be designed with Edo State colours with the picture of our dear governor. The LOC is planning to storm Benin City to begin publicity campaign for the tournament. We have designed eight flexis banners, roll up banners and printed handbills which will use for the mobilisation of the people of Edo State for the tournament. This will start anytime from now,” he said.

Prince Mohammed said that a meeting of the LOC which will comprise members in Lagos and Edo State will meet soon to fine tune preparation for the intercontinental wrestling tourney, which will shake the Niger Delta.

“We’ll be meeting with our people in Edo State very soon. We are working round the clock for the success of the tournament. We did the same for our sports loving Governor Raji Fashola last year’s September with the BRF Intercontinental Wrestling Championship. We have learnt a lot and I believe we’ll package a befitting competition for our Comrade Governor in Edo State,” he said.
