Rigobert Song, the legendary and emblematic captain of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon makes an unexpected return in the Lions’ den as Team Manager.

“Captain courage”, as he is fondly called by fans, had put an end to his extraordinary and extensive carrier after the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa amidst the indifference of football officials.

Song was preffered to other ex Lions amongst whom are Bell Joseph Antoine, Eugène Ekéké and Patrick “magic” Mboma, who for long was penciled for the job.

The appointment with immediate effect was taken during the last Executive Committee meeting of Fecafoot that held Friday night in Yaounde and where the sanctions meted on Eto’o, Eyong, and Assou Ekotto were commuted.
