Residents Hold Rally For Slain Youth

Youths in their hundreds this morning held a peaceful protest in honour of slain Ademola Abiodun Aderinto who was shot by a team of policemen led by the DPO attached to Pen Cinema Police Division on Monday.

The youths who wore black shirts sang songs and moved from Yaya Abatan Street to Abeokuta Street.

They called for the prosecution of the killer of the youth.

Speaking at the event, chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Ikeja branch, who led his members to the peaceful protest, Barrister Adegbamigbe Omole, promised to ensure that the killer of Ademola is brought to justice.

Omole added that the NBA will not allow the authorities to sweep the matter under the carpet but will follow it to a logical conclusion.

Also at the protest were residents of Abeokuta Street, where the deceased resided, political party leaders and members of civil society groups.
