Olympic Judo: Matori Sure Of More Slots For Nigeria
President of Judo Federation of Nigeria, JFN, Isa Matori, has assured Nigerians of the federation’s readiness to secure more slots for the nation at this year’s London Olympics in the qualifier slated for Bamako, Mali.
Matori said it is necessary for Nigeria to have more Judokas at the London Games. He explained that the federation has secured two slots at a qualifier last year and expressed his optimism of winning two more slots in March this year.
“I want to assure Nigerians of the federation’ s readiness and willingness to book more slots for the London Olympics. We got two slots late last year and we want to get two more slots in Bamako,” he said.
He hailed Nigerian Judokas for their commitment and dedication to win more laurels for Nigeria at the London Olympics.
“Our judokas’ commitment and dedication are worthy of emulation for other athletes in the country. Everybody is looking for a way to represent the nation at the London Games,” he said.
Matori, however, assured athletes of adequate provision for the logistics needed to perform credibly in both qualifier and London Olympic.
He added that the federation is ready to motivate Nigerian judokas more than ever before to ensure that goals of the federation are achieved in the games.
