Pro Wrestling: WUW Set For World Tourney

World Underground Wrestling, WUW, is planning to stage series of wrestling matches across the world soon.

 

A representative of the WUW, Olusesan Olukoya, told P.M.Sports that the body plans to popularise professional wrestling across the world.

 

Olukoya, an African pro-wrestling promoter, manager and publisher, said the tournament will begin on 22 January in Platja Daro, Spain.

 

He disclosed that the winner of the tournament in Spain will fight in Thailand on 5 February.

 

On 1 June, all roads will lead to Tokyo in Japan for the WUW World Championship.

 

Olukoya who has paid his dues to the development and promotion of pro-wrestling on the African continent, said Nigeria’s leg of the competition, will hold as soon as the plans to make it a reality have been concluded.

 

“Power Lee, the current Nigerian national heavyweight champion and title holder, has indicated interest to compete for the Underground Wrestling Nigeria champion, while Super Apama, Mr. Sharpman and Strong Bone who also holds the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, NWF, heavyweight title are also looking forward to taking part in the championship.

 

The WUW, whose Headquarters is based in France, is headed by Jaguar Rogovski.

 

The organisation has other branches across the world. FugoFugo Yumeji heads WUW in Japan, Tom Nakamura (Thailand), Humungus (Austria), Psychotic Badger (Spain) and Himalayan TigerSee More (Nepal).
