Do Not Disappoint Electorate, Council Boss Charges Appointees

The chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Kehinde Bamigbetan, has charged the new political appointees in the council, not to disappoint the people.

Bamigbetan gave the charge during the swearing in ceremony of the nine appointees,inside the council’s legislative chamber over the weekend,.

At the ceremony witnessed by the council’s lawmakers, ACN party leaders and members, the council chairman told the appointees to see their appointment as commitment to excellence .

In his words: “I want to appeal to you not to take residents of Ejigbo LCDA for granted, they are more intelligent than you, and they have high expectation of what you are supposed to do. You must be humbled, you must listen to their complaints because you chose to serve them. It is your responsibility to make them happy, and as such you should be patient to listen to them and address their problems”.

While congratulating the new appointees, Bamigbetan reminded them not to see their appointment as an avenue to enrich themselves, but an opportunity to contribute their own quota to the development of Ejigbo LCDA.

The appointees who were sworn in at the occasion include, Mr. Remi Gbadegeshin, Secretary to the council; Mr. Muritala Olaiwon, Mrs Onyinye Okoroji, Mr. Ayotunde Ojo, Mr Peter Ajayi, Mr. Taiwo Taheed Adebayo, Mrs Oluwayemisi Alashe, Mr. Wasiu Atinsola and Barrister Ihechi Ike, as supervisors and special advisers.

The supervisors and special advisers would be given their portfolios at a later date, according to the council’s chairman.
