Secretary General of Nigeria Boxing Board of Control, NBB of C, Remi Aboderin, has hailed the arrival of five new boxing promotion firms in the country.
Aboderin, in a chat with Boxing In Focus, said that the arrival of the new firms will bring positive changes to professional boxing in Nigeria.
“Their arrival is a welcome development and I am convinced that stakeholders of professional boxing in Nigeria will agree with me that it is long overdue,” said Aboderin, who is also the president of Threels And Freels Boxing Promotions.
The NBB of C scribe said fans of professional boxing will be excited by the development, knowing that the arrival of these firms will bring about more boxing tourneys in the country.
“This is very good for professional boxing in Nigeria. The implication of this is that boxing fans will be treated to more exciting boxing events in the new year. Many Nigerians have been waiting for this for a long time,” said Aboderin.
The NBB of C topshot added that professional boxers in Nigeria will now have the opportunity to participate in more fights in the presence of their fans.
“This is unlike the past when professional boxers did not have enough fights to express themselves in the presence of their fans,” added Aboderin.
“Having many promotional companies is very good for professional boxing in the country. The development will keep the promoters on their toes and galvanise them to package first-class boxing tourneys,” said Aboderin.
The new promotions firms are Gold Fist Promotions, Henzini Promotions, Greyland Promotions, Tripple A Promotions and Achievers Promotions.
